Introduction - about Mayflower Camping

Mayflower camps are organic community camps. What we do, arises out of our camp. The invitation is to align with what we are alive with. As so many of us have busy lives we often take a good deep rest. Yet there is a curious blend at camp of becoming busy without apparently doing a lot!

Our camp holds an experience in time together that is also a journey within our selves. Communion and Community are mutual aspects of the wholeness that may 'flower' in our Camp.

We tend to be from 30 to 120 campers, including children, and we camp in a circle of joined open circles, (usually three).

Each circle has it’s own hearth and camp such that campers at any hearth can see the campers at the other fires. This allows a sense of relationship with every camper to grow over the course of the Camp.

Campers cook together at their own circle hearth, but otherwise we mingle among circles. Many events and occasions call us together in different groupings over the course of a camp.

Food is shared and each circle sorts out its own kitchen area. (Using camp 'furniture' as well as various provided kitchenware).

We have permanent site facilities on the ; water, toilets, showers, sauna and the Roundhouse. We ensure a supply of abundant firewood.
